A Taste of Lahore in the Heart of Australia

Lahori Dhaba, a family-owned restaurant, has been serving authentic Pakistani cuisine to the Australian community since 2014. Our story begins with a passion for sharing the flavors and traditions of Lahore, one of Pakistan’s oldest and most culturally rich cities.

The Journey Begins

Our founder, Arshad Mehdi, grew up in Pakistan Punjab, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of the city’s famous food streets. After migrating to Australia, Arshad Mehdi realized that there was a lack of authentic Punjabi cuisine in the local food scene. This sparked a dream to bring a taste of Lahore to Australia.

The First Dhaba

Lahori Dhaba opened its doors for the first time in 2015 in Punchbowl Sydney NSW 2196. The restaurant quickly gained popularity among locals and visitors alike, who were drawn to the authentic flavors and warm hospitality. Our menu featured traditional LAHORI BREAKFAST, such as Halwa puri, sarson ka saag, Paya, and haleem, all made with love and care using family recipes.

Expansion and Growth

As our reputation grew, so did our restaurant. We expanded our premises to accommodate more customers and introduced new menu items, including vegetarian and vegan options. Our commitment to using only the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking methods remained unwavering.

Awards and Recognition

Lahori Dhaba has been recognized for its outstanding cuisine and service, receiving Recognition in local media and social media. Our restaurant has also been featured in “DAILY TELEGRAPH” further cementing our reputation as a leading destination for PAKISTANI cuisine in Australia.

The Fire: A Setback and a New Beginning

In January 2022, our restaurant suffered a devastating fire that caused significant damage to our premises. The incident was a major setback for our business, but it also presented an opportunity for us to rebuild and come back stronger.

Rising from the Ashes

In the same month, we transformed our function centre in Yagoona NSW 2199 into a new restaurant, ensuring that our customers could continue to enjoy the authentic flavors of Lahore. This new chapter in our journey marked a fresh start, with a renewed commitment to serving the best Punjabi cuisine in Australia.

A New Chapter in Glebe

We are excited to announce the opening of our new restaurant in Glebe, NSW 2037, in the heart of Sydney. This new location marks a significant milestone in our journey, as we expand our business and bring the flavors of Lahore to a wider audience.
